The client wished to update an existing garage and attached stable.  There was also a need for additional space for visiting family to have autonomy from the primary home.  In addition, the client bemoaned the fact that the existing house did not take enough advantage of distant mountain views nor of its adjacency to rolling pastureland.  BHA unified these goals by utilizing the existing garage foundations and stacking a new ADU above. The result will be a respite for guests complete with outdoor roof deck that responds to the existing structure and takes advantage of sweeping views to the southwest.
